Dr Ruban Thanigasalam is a Sydney trained urological surgeon specialising in robotic and minimally invasive uro-oncology. Dr Thanigasalam is one of the few Australian urological surgeons who has completed a prestigious two-year fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic uro-oncological surgery in Paris. He has a special interest in prostate and kidney cancer outcomes research and has numerous peer-reviewed journal publications. Dr Thanigasalam is a da Vinci accredited surgical proctor (mentor for surgical colleagues in robotic surgery).
Dr Thanigasalam has visiting medical officer (VMO) appointments at The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Strathfield Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital.
He is an associate professor of robotic surgery (University of Sydney), and clinical lead in prostate cancer research at the Institute of Academic Surgery, based at the RPA campus.
