Breast Cancer Specialist Nurse

Roan has worked in three different countries throughout his nursing career. He first started working in Cairo, Egypt caring for predominantly cardiothoracic patients after being qualified as a Registered Nurse in his home country of the Philipines. Roan then moved to New Zealand for three and a half years doing mostly general medial and surgical nursing at a public hospital based in Wellington.
Roan started at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in the opening of one of our surgical wards in 2015 and has been looking after breast cancer patients since then. He became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the ward in 2018, and has more recently joined the breast cancer tumour stream as a Breast Cancer Specialist Nurse.
Roan is a member of the Australasian Society for Breast Disease and is currently studying his post graduate qualification in breast cancer nursing.
