Dr Paul Chen is a specialist breast, endocrine and general surgeon with extensive experience in oncoplastic breast surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery with the utilisation of nerve monitoring.
Dr Chen completed his surgical training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney after graduating from the University of Auckland. He underwent a further two years of post-fellowship training with BreastSurgANZ in oncoplastics, breast and endocrine surgery at high volume centres in Perth and Melbourne. In pursuit of techniques in the forefront of breast surgery, he underwent further training with world-renowned oncoplastics breast surgeons in France and Italy.
Dr Chen has published widely in surgical peer-reviewed journals and has presented internationally on a wide spectrum of surgical topics. He has attained his Masters of Surgery in oncoplastics breast surgery and was awarded the John Loewenthal medal for research from the University of Sydney.
Dr Chen is a VMO at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and St George Private Hospital. He is also appointed as a breast surgeon for Breast Screen NSW.
Dr Chen is multilingual, fluent in both Mandarin and Taiwanese. Effective communication is paramount in achieving patient satisfaction in all aspects of medical care.
