Max Moore-Wilton AC
Max Moore-Wilton is one of the most prominent names in Australia’s corporate landscape, with a comprehensive career that includes key roles within the highest levels of the private and public service sector.
In recent years Max has held a number of positions as either Chairman or Board Member of major Commonwealth and state business enterprises, roles supported by his extensive experience in the Australian transport sector.
In April 2006, Max was appointed Chairman of Sydney Airport Holdings Limited, previously known as Map Airports Limited. He is also a non-executive director of the same organisation and is Chairman of Sydney Airport Corporation Limited.
Prior to this appointment Max was Executive Chairman of Sydney Airport Corporation from 2002 and is past President of the Airport Council International (ACI) World Governing Board.
In addition to these roles, Max has also been Chairman of Southern Cross Austereo Media Group (Previously Macquarie Media Group) since 2007.
In Max’s earlier career, he has been General Manager of the Australian Wheat Board, Director General of the NSW Department of Transport and NSW Maritime Services Board, Manager of Australian National Lines and at the Australian Stock Exchange.
From 1996 he was Secretary to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet for six years, where he oversaw fundamental reform to the Commonwealth Public Service.
In 2001, he was appointed a Companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours List.
Max was personally invited by Chris O’Brien to join the Lifehouse Board in 2007, in view of his extensive experience in public and private sector management. He remains committed to ensuring that Australians facing a cancer diagnosis will have access to a world-class facility.
