Katie began her career in the bone marrow transplant unit at Kings College Hospital, London. She qualified as a registered nurse in Glasgow, UK in 2011.
Working in the haematology department inspired a passion for working with cancer patients and she went on to achieve post-graduate qualifications in chemotherapy and haematology nursing.
After moving to Australia in 2016, Katie began working at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in the day therapy unit as a registered nurse and a clinical nurse specialist. After further developing her oncology experience, she took on the role of sarcoma specialist nurse in 2018.
As a member of the sarcoma team, Katie works collaboratively to co-ordinate care for patients across all types of treatment. She mostly works with adolescent and young adult patients.
“I believe in strongly developing a trusting and therapeutic partnership with patients and families.”
