Justine has been a registered nurse since 1990 and has developed extensive clinical knowledge, expertise and experience in the area of head and neck oncology. She was a Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Consultant at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital from 2000 and more recently at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse since its opening in 2013.
She is extremely competent in all aspects of advanced nursing in cancer care and acts autonomously to use her clinical judgement and expertise to provide specialised care. She introduced a nurse-led clinic in 2001 to document patients’ quality of life and provide psychosocial support and symptom management. This clinic gives head and neck patients an extra level of clinical surveillance and support.
Justine continues to promote an evidence-based approach to nursing using research and evolving practice to evaluate and affect the patient’s quality of life. She brings her wealth of experienced to the head and neck multidisciplinary team.
Justine is looking forward to furthering her professional capabilities after having completed a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) in 2016 and feels very well supported in the continued development her nursing career.
