Jasvir completed his medical training at the University of Adelaide in 2003. Prior to this, he graduated from dentistry from the University of Sydney in 1994. He undertook his maxillofacial surgical training in Adelaide and completed his fellowship in oral & maxillofacial surgery in 2005. In addition, he did further training in mouth and jaw cancer surgery as the international fellow at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in India.
Jasvir works as a VMO oral & maxillofacial surgeon at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Prince of Wales Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospital. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on oral oncology and reconstruction, facial trauma and facial deformity correction. He has developed expertise in the application of 3D planning and manufacturing in surgery. Using these technologies he is able to precision plan jaw corrective surgery, cancer removal surgery, and head and neck bone and dental reconstruction. These 3D techniques include the construction of patient specific implants which are 3D printed to fit individual patients. These techniques result in more precise surgery, reduced operating times, customisable patient outcomes and comprehensive jaw reconstruction in a day.
He is actively involved in his specialist association, lectures nationally and is also involved in the supervision and teaching of surgical trainees.
