Dr Rodney Allan is an Australian born and educated Neurosurgeon with additional advanced fellowship training in endovascular and cerebrovascular surgery. He has a broad range of interests, including surgery for pituitary tumours, brain tumours (malignant and benign) and reconstructive spinal surgery for cancer (and degenerative disease).

What is your title?
Dr Rodney Allan, Neurosurgeon and Endovascular Neurosurgeon

What training have you completed?
I completed medical school in 1995 at University of New South Wales. Neurosurgery training followed with rotations in Auckland, Royal Prince Alfred, and Westmead. Additional specialised training followed in Canada.

My first job was … taxi driving!

To explain to people what I do I say … I operate on people’s brains to fix problems.

What is the hardest part about your job?
Telling patients or their families bad news.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Helping people to live longer and better.

How long have you been working at Lifehouse?
Since it opened.

What attracted you to working at Lifehouse?
