Chris is Director of Radiation Oncology and Medical Services at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and was previously Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Sydney Cancer Centre at RPA since 2004.
He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney and is also a member of the board of directors of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) and the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG)
Chris has also been the Dean of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology for RANZCR during 2009-2012 and more recently has become President of RANZCR for 2014-2016.
After graduating with Honours from The University of NSW in 1986, Chris became an intern and resident at St George Hospital, before training in Radiation Oncology at The Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH). He then undertook a post-graduate Fellowship in Experimental Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, in Houston, Texas.
Upon returning to Australia, Chris took up the role of staff specialist radiation oncologist at POWH from 1997-2004, before moving across to RPA and now Lifehouse.
Chris’ clinical focus is in the disciplines of head and neck oncology and gynaecological oncology. His research activity includes an interest in basic and translation sciences, cancer support and communication and health services planning.
Chris enjoys keeping fit – at the gym, running, and cycling. He relaxes on the weekend by trying new recipes – favouring seafood and bbq.
