Dr April Wong is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons who undertook her General Surgery training through the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital network in Sydney. During this time, she also attained her Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney.
Dedicated to being a leader in her field, Dr Wong underwent two years of subspecialty training in Breast & Oncoplastic surgery working with mentors from Australia, New Zealand and UK. She is trained in all aspect of breast disease, benign & malignant, oncoplastic breast conserving surgery, oncoplastic breast reduction, sentinel node biopsy, nipple/skin sparing mastectomy, and breast reconstruction.
Dr Wong is a respected member in the research community having secured numerous prestigious grants for her research projects and is well published in her field. She was awarded the John Collins Medal & Travel grant by the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group and has been a speaker at multiple international and local meetings.
She is a VMO at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Sydney Breast Clinic, St Luke’s Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital and Waratah Private Hospital.
She is a member of Breast Cancer Network Australia, Breast SurgANZ, ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group and Sydney Vital Translational Cancer Research centre, at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research.
