Quality and Infection Control Coordinator | Chris O'Brien Lifehouse

Lifehouse is a Comprehensive Cancer Centre with 125 beds including 18 intensive care beds and 10 operating theatres.  We have in excess of 300 outpatient visits daily and are developing further complex in-patient services as part of our specialist oncology program.

We are seeking an organised, motivated and experienced person for the Quality and Infection Control Coordinator position.

This role will work closely with the ADON Governance and Quality in the co-ordination of and reporting of the hospital’s quality improvement activities, measuring clinical outcomes and managing the clinical risk program of the facility. Within this role there is a significant focus on infection control in identifying and managing infection control issues and risks across the organisation to support remedial actions and systemic improvements.

Essential Criteria 

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems;
  • Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical risk management concepts and their application to the health sector and patient safety
  • Previous experience with Accreditation under the National Standards
  • High level of computer literacy with a working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and electronic clinical and administrative applications used by Lifehouse. (Riskman/Sharepoint)

 

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to needs assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate quality and patient safety educational activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice through the initiation and participation in research-based projects and activities relevant to Infection Control;
  • Demonstrated ability to review, develop, implement and evaluate institutional wide infection control policies and procedures
