Travelling for treatment can be challenging. At Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, we aim to make regional and rural patients and their families feel at home, not just within the hospital, but during all stages of their visit.
Get to know the neighbourhood
Try these options for accommodation close to the hospital:
- Claim a 20% patient discount at Veriu self contained apartments or take advantage of their long stay rates.
- Airbnb has a number of affordable options nearby.
- Nearby serviced apartments and three to four star hotels including Rydges Camperdown.
- Seasonal accommodation can be found at certain times of the year with Glebespace.
We offer our regional and rural patients a free bus service from Central Station from Monday to Friday 8am to 3.30pm.
Things to do
If you are coming with your family, please visit Kidsize Living for cafes, activities, parks for families in Sydney. Pick the Inner West section for activities and amenities in the Lifehouse neighbourhood.
Meet other regional patients, their families and carers at our weekly Country Club.
Born out of a desire to provide support and friendship to families who come to Sydney for treatment, Country Club meets every Tuesday from 11am to 1pm in the patient lounge on the ground floor next to the main lifts. All welcome!
