Lifehouse has recruited the first patient to its clinical trial of medicinal cannabis. The trial investigates whether medicinal cannabis can alleviate the nausea and vomiting that patients experience as a side effect of chemotherapy treatment.

The trial is the largest and most definitive randomised controlled trial of medicinal cannabis for this purpose. More than 300 patients across New South Wales will take part.

Lifehouse medical oncologist Peter Grimison explains how the trial hopes to establish medicinal cannabis as a treatment option for chemotherapy patients: https://theconversation.com/could-a-cannabis-pill-reduce-chemotherapy-induced-nausea-and-vomiting-heres-how-we-find-out-66774.
