A trek of a lifetime | Chris O'Brien Lifehouse
 In Fundraising, Inspiring Stories

Over five days in May, a group of 17 intrepid supporters trekked through the West MacDonnell mountain range near Alice Springs on our first ever Outback Challenge.

They waded across river beds, hiked along bush tracks and even climbed a mountain to raise vital funds for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. Together the team raised an extraordinary $123,000 and lasting friendships were made around the camp fire. They shared their stories, tears and laughter for a wonderful cause and we cannot thank them enough.

The memories made on the trail will last a lifetime. But, best of all, the money they raised will go towards the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Sarcoma Centre. The Sarcoma Centre’s purpose is to make a real difference to our sarcoma patients, many of who are fit adolescents, and to provide hope for better outcomes from this rare but devastating cancer.

A huge thank you to Imogen Bidmead from Inspired Adventures for putting together this inspirational video of the trek.

And a massive thank you to our trek buddies for this awesome achievement. We can’t wait to see what the next challenge will bring.
