Over the holiday season, 12-year-old Jack was looking for a way to support patients who would be spending Christmas in hospital. Jack had gotten to know the team at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse after we cared for his grandmother.
With the help of his Mum and some friends, Jack hit the shops and filled up ten goodie bags with gifts, puzzle books, playing cards, sweets – items that Jack and his friends thought would be well-received by people staying in hospital.
He gave these to the staff at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and asked us to hand out the bags to patients on Christmas Day along with his very best Christmas wishes.
Both patients and staff were incredibly touched by this wonderful act of kindness.
Thank you, Jack, for bringing a sparkle of joy to our patients on Christmas day.
