Chris O’Brien Lifehouse volunteers work side-by-side with staff to deliver uncompromising care to our patients and their families.
They work both behind the scenes, assisting staff with administrative tasks, and more directly with patients and their families. Some of these vital roles include welcoming patients, carers and visitors to Lifehouse and providing support and refreshments in our clinics.
We ask that our Volunteers commit to volunteering for a minimum of four hours each week for at least 12 months and most positions require volunteers to attend the same day each week, either in the morning or afternoon during business hours, Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm.
Benefits of volunteering
Volunteering helps to deliver a positive experience for patients and their families. But it also provides the volunteer with many benefits, including being part of the Lifehouse community, gaining or developing new skills, meeting new people and, most importantly, experiencing a sense of achievement by helping and supporting others.
